A few weeks ago i started to build an aquarium from plywood and liquid pond liner. At a water height of 75 cm(29.53 inch) the aquarium will be 2000 liter(528 gallons). It can be that eventually i will keep the water height at 80 or 85 cm.(31.5 inch) Further i'm making a biological from 500 liter in combination with a dry filter part from 175 liter(46 gallons) and a fluidised bed filter from 80 liter(21 gallons). I intend to make everything waterproof with liquid pond liner, but it can be that during the build of everything i change to epoxy/glass fleece. In the first instance i ordered some gallons of liquid pond liner and some kinds of kit and i want to test this first on one of the filters. I also want to make the back wall myself, but that are plans for later (i would like to make it a Malawi biotope).
So as i said before, the aquarium will be 2000 liter(528 gallons) with a size of 220x120x100 cm. (86.61x47.24x39.37 inch)It will stand free in the room and from the side i can get at the back (where the filters are). With this setup i can reach everything well, but you can't see it standing in front of the aquarium.
I also want to bring cv pipes to the back of the aquarium so i can partly heat it by central heating, but this part of the build i need to develop further. For example i have to see how to arrange this: with a valve/temperature sensors in the central heating pipes/aquarium....
I alreay have an exchanger which i can connect to the aquarium pump inside the filter, but it can be that i choose for unicorn pipes inside the biological in the end, but that i have to decide later. First i have to make everything waterproof.
I am, by the way, interested in experiences others had. Specially in the applied way to regulate the whole....but also on other aspects of the build of my aquarium!
