Ok this is a thread about the striped killifish. I am planning to keep some then try and introduce them to the hobby by selling them to my lfs. These are AMAZING fish. Why? Well I'll make you a list!

PROS.

Fully saltwater killifish, but can go brackish
one of the biggest killifish, growing to 6-8 inches long
one of the easiest fish to ever sex, as females have horizontal lines and males have vertical
will eat any food, even flake
mop spawners in saltwater! (how cool is that!)
can breathe air like other killifish
MEGA HARDY
can be kept without a heater or at tropical fish tank heat levels (there range is from the canadian border to florida)
Live longer then most killis at 3-4 years
will take insects and other live foods!
are a native fish which is cool! easily collectible.
make great feeder fish
Will also occasionally bury themselves in sand which is cool

CONS

Not very pretty :( at first when collected

(female)
but when fed high quality flakes will develop more color, mostly greens and blues.
also lets remember what sailfin mollys first looked like when brought to the hobby. In time if they become popular maybe we could find a cool color morph!

Sounds cool! I’m game! Probably a great addition to a temperate marine setup.
