Only main differences between the cariba and red belly is that they grow larger and have a distinctive humeral spot on each side.

Pygocentrus piraya

Serrasalmus spilopleura
http://images.google.co.uk/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&q=Serrasalmus+spilopleura

Body Characteristics: Like with the Rhom, Spilo has many different variations due to their distribution. However usually they are gold or yellow in the lower body and more silverfish yellow the further back you go. However all Spilo’s caudal fin is lightly coloured with a dark base and has a dark terminal band. Although they have the red eyes like the Rhom, for a serra species their head is quite blunt.

Hopefully this will come in useful to all of us. I know that I for one will be referring to this haha. But recommendations, additions and feedback would be more that appreciated.

Can anyone list the piranhas from the most valuable, prized, and expensive to the least expensive. And also which ones are more common and which are more rare. Thanks.

Well Ghoster from everything i have red you don't have enough space for them to successfully breed. but you could try suddenly raising the amount and how often you feed them and do water changes every three days or so i read that this causing them to burn of a fatty layer and also helps in inducing eggs. But you will also read that it is very rare to be able to breed piranha but it is possible.
