methyele blue is just for prevention....i make sure that the fungus doesn't attack at the time of breeding period.. pre- spawning and post-spawning... and methyele blue does not only prevent the fungus but also... improves oxygen diffusion in the blood.. which is necessary for the breeding....process,,, a lot many fishes are seen to have a heart attack.. at this time due to the stress involves... a pair of z-black died in my place a week ago...was about to lay egg for the second time.. was very young though....other conditions were just 100 % ok...i think a heart attack...was the cause...

at 2 inches your female is to small she may start spawning but not much sucess at this size mine always spawned after i did wc with slighlty cooler water i also would put a newspaper taped to the front glass so that they would have there privacy there pretty easy to breed once there settled imo
