I'm finding myself drawn to the Arowana species i know these creatures can grow to a considerable size but not sure just how big. If i was to get an Arowana what size aquarium would i need and what tank mates would be compatable with it.

I have benn keeping tropical fish for about 2 and a half years i have two aquariums one with 3 Oscars 2 of them are red tiger Oscars and the other is an albino Oscar and in the other tank i have 2 Piranhas (Pygocentrus nattereri).

Now i'm not asking the compatability because i wanna add my other fish with the Arowana i'm asking because i'm really not sure what can go with the fish.

All infomation would be great many thanks.

at least 2 feet, silver arrows get 3-4 feet tho. I wouldn't keep one in a 240g.
In the wild they do get 3-4 ft.. even more. But in the home aquaria.. biggest ive seen is 3 feet.

well considering how many countless people keep them in 125s and 180s, where they scarcely have 3 lengths of swimming space, if even that, I don't find it surprising.

I speculate if people kept them in a reasonably spacious environment we'd see plenty of 4 footers
