Even a 180 is REALLY pushing it for a SILVER arowana. After seeing the 4 foot arowana at the public aquarium it has changed my perspective on tank size. No fish with a 2.5-4 foot potential should be crammed into a 6 foot tank period. A jardini might be fine in a 180 though.

Not to derail the thread just a heads up. I would look into jardinis as they are more well suited in home aquariums.

Our local zoo had a monster silver aro too. It was that moment I concluded that silver aros don't belong in 6' tanks. Hell, even an 8' tank would've been pushing it.

Anyways, I think a 12" aro in a 3' tank is too cramped.
