I finally picked up my order of baby orino Peacock bass from a local importer. I got 7 but one was looking like he wasn't gonna make it, and died before I could even get him in the tank. They all are about 1.75 to 2 inches, a bit smaller than I was hoping. I was hoping for 2.5" minimum so that I could have put them in with my other unknown Juvies I got a couple of weeks ago. I will try to document these six baby orino as these are by far the smallest I've started with. They are in a fry-net right now but will be going into my 5 gallon until they can bulk up a little.

I got them into the 5g now, I set the temp at 87. I'm going to attempt to feed them some brine shrimp. The guy who brought them in said he had been feeding them froze blood worm and it seems they were eating because some of them seem full.

Seems like only one of them are taking to the brine shrimp with gusto. I think one of them hasn't hit one yet and the rest are eating one every few minutes at most.

i just put in some frozen bloodworm and the ones who didnt eat the brine shrimp seem to like the fbw better. I'm going to try to keep feeding the brine shrimp though as it is more nutritious.

Day 3. They are slowly eating more and more. I took out the minnow that was with them because it seems like they were afraid of it because of its size and appetite. I can see a nice bluish green tinge on their body and fins. Looks like they should turn out nice. I'm still trying to find out from my importer what type these guys are exactly, just so I can call them something other than orinos, lol!uploadfromtaptalk1393309977243.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393309988581.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393310003827.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393310017341.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393310037129.jpg
