From what I've read, these guys have a straight gut and can process food like it's going out of style. I expect that he may only be getting started...

I need to measure him but he doesn't really seem to be putting on size

Many feed them live till they are 12". What are you feeding?

interesting. I am feeding a variety of pellet feeds and some flakes. He prefers flakes over the pellets. I don't feed live but I can mix some frozen in there.
