im gonna say its a spot. the mouth looks rather small to be a lmb and the eye is red.. both of those are characteristics of spotted bass. spotted bass, like every other black bass species except lmb have a jaw that does not extent beyond the rear of the eye. the red eye on this fish is a dead give-away that it is either a spotted or maybe a less common redeye bass. the lack of a red tail and that you caught it in a lake makes it a spotted bass in my opinion. the color pattern is a little off, but bass can change color based on water conditions ie: temperature, color, water chemistry. hope this helps.
