most alligator I've seen dark In color like this just turn dark if the tank is darker. He might turn back to normal color in a week or so. Mine got dark like this and when I gave him to a friend, he turned back

That's cool. They sure it's a Gator? Hard to tell in the pics. We have melanistic wild Longnose that pop up pretty regularly in a few watersheds in Georgia.

I'm pretty sure it's a gator def not a long nose. If it is a long nose then his snout is defected haha. It has snout that fits a gator and eyes close to the snout like a gator
