I was wondering what would be the minimum circular tank size for a black tip reef shark. I don't plan on getting one just curious. I know you need a lot of experience to be able to care for such a fish and a lot of money as well.

A LFS had one in a 12' X 6' X 6' tank but the shark didn't seem happy at all. But yeah a 20' - 25' diameter tank should be good for one.

Here are some pictures of a concrete tank that one of my LFS houses three black tip reef sharks and a giant grouper in. If I had to guess, I would say it's near 20-24 feet long by 10-12 feet wide. They said it measures out to 17,000 gallons. All of this in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lol.

Lol, when I say LFS, it really takes me about 45 minutes to get there. My closest LFS is actually Gerbers Tropical Fish in Dayton, which is only 15-20 minutes from me. I think they have a much better selection than the place in Cincy, but I think the place in Cincy has a much better equipment selection. If you ever have a chance to make it up to Gerbers, it is well worth the trip to check out their stocking.

How is this possible? Are they still successful? Are the sharks happy and alive? I would love to know more about this person!
