a few blue Botia loaches? The loaches don’t seem to be aggressive but considering there the only other bottom feeders in the tank I’m wondering if they’ll fight with the new polypterus delhezi ?
Midwater Midwater has some sizable modestas. Perhaps they can elaborate on their territoriality.
I have not commented on this thread yet, because do not really know about polypterus. But I think modesta would be okay.

Modesta are not bottom feeders, or even bottom dwellers, they are underneath dwellers. They need some cover, from which they will shoot out and get food from anywhere.

Also, modesta are colony fish. They exist naturally in groups of hundreds, or even thousands, and really should be kept in as large a group as you can. Definitely no fewer than twenty.

So long as these conditions are met, they can exist with most other fish.
