No. Pack hunters. Guess they're referred to as African wild dogs but something like a 85% success rate when hunting compared to only 40% for a pack of lions

@ 6:40 you see a lion go for a buffalo alone. I've actually seen an adult lion kill an adult buffalo on a nature show before but I can't find any footage. of course lions vs buffalo one on one, the lion will be the underdog. but they have been known to get kills.
