it cost me $200 to get this tank. Is that a good, or ok deal? got some light scratches on one side but it is crystal clear . Can I add more glue to the walls to add more grip/hold? Or does once they bond they they can not be separated? Thank U.

Reading more. And experience with my acrylic tanks, that 4ft height should be a reptilelplant tank. I would never fill that past 2-2.5ft of water. I suppose you could brace the center of the middle of the tank if you buy the right acrylic weld.

Imo, bad idea for water full..

Not a chance in hell I'd set that up in my house, even with bracing on it. 48" tall should be well over an inch thick even braced. That is a mess waiting to happen.

As it is already bowing out at least 2 or three inches on each side and the tank is only half full, it is going to get much worse filled the rest of the way. You can reinforce the seams, however that wont do a thing for the bowing, that will just help prevent a corner from bursting out.

If it must hold water and be a fish tank, I'd take out my circular saw and cut off about 2 feet from the top. Then brace it.

Otherwise, I'd keep it dry. Maybe put some tree branches, plants, crickets, spiders, and centipedes in there.

I would cut down the hight to about 30" max, then use the extra plexiglass to make a top piece with cut outs and glue together. I wouldn't feel comfortable without the top piece for corner support and cross bracing.

Remember if u set it up as a tank and heat the water it's gonna make the plastic relax more. To me that's a display case not a tank.

i agree. But with lowered height and brace on top, it's gonna be a fish tank with me now. Undone fish tank. A nice lil project tank,
