I have 2 Fluval 204's, they work fine for me, but the main reason I have them is because they take up the majority of supplies/assecories in most pet/fish stores around me.
I've done both Fluvals and XP's, and prever the XP's overall. My XP's are much easier and quicker to do maintenance on than the Fluvals, IMO. My XP3 on the 75G is now going on 2 years (Was on my 55G for almost a year before being moved to the new 75G), with no problems at all, and my XP2 on my 29G is going on 1 years. And I just recently bought another XP3 to replace the 2 Emperor 400's on my 55G.

I would have to say my absolute clearest tank is my 26G with an Emperor 280 on it. I have a filter pad in the back, and the basket is full of lava granules. And the only other thing, the tank has java moss covering 1/3 of the tank. It is crystal clear. The tank has no algae problems, not even spot algae on the glass. And have a total of 28 fish in the tank.

I do run a couple Emps. on my 75, but only because they were sitting on the shelf dry.

I have a Magnum 350 and aquaclears. The Magnum is nice but makes alot of noise. I checked and replaced the impeller to see if it would stop making so much noise but no it just rattles. LOL. Also I don't like that there is only one media basket and thats it. Aquaclears are awesome. I'm picking up a 2078 Eheim Pro 3E soon for my 125 along with an XP3. Any complaints about the 2078 Eheim Pro 3E?
