It's come time to upgrade the filtration on my 75 gallon. Currently I'm running an emperor 400, I think it's a penguin single bio wheel and a Fluval 306. I have two 12+ inch oscars, a 12 inch pleco and probably 7 or 8 jewels. I'm tired of the noise. I want to put another canister on it and eliminate the hobs. I have a few models available locally or I can order something. I hear good things about the Ehiem filters so I've been leaning towards them.

My question is what size do yall recommend? I want to be able to just run off this new one for a week to reseed my 26 when I set it back up, or if the old one craps out. I got the fluval used 4 or 5 years ago. If you could, I would like to hear your input on what to put in the filters.

I would recommend cutting down on the stock, you have heavy overstocking as is.

Sunsun filters are good budget canisters, I'm not sure about inline heating filters

I have a SunSun 303B and it is completely silent with great media capacity.

I think a SunSun 304B added to your Fluval 306 would work great, or you could just get two of the SunSun 304B's. I wouldn't recommend just one because of your heavy stocking. You've got quite a few large and very messy fish in there.

i run a fx6 on my 75. I highly recommend it. My water is crystal clear all the time. I can look through the side of my tank right through with amazing clarity. Its quite impressive.

For the money I love my sun sun filters. $80 on Amazon and it puts out 500+gph. Also a fan of the fluval 406s and fx line as well

My favorites are the XP's for the money, but if on a tight budget sun sun is hard to beat.
