Exactly. Small water changes is the way to go.

Bug water changes in that stage equals a never ending cycle.

I see what you are saying about the water changes, I will try the 10% water changes and see what happens. I appreciate it.

No detectable nitrates leads me to believe this tank is not cycled. Not a big deal, really, just do water changes as needed to keep the ammonia where you want it and the tank will complete its cycle in time.

Well I did a small water change and decided to let the tank do its thing for a couple days... happy to say Ammonia is back to 0, Nitrite 0 and Nitrate less than 5! Thanks for all of the advice
