I've never run a sump wet/dry setup before. And I'm picking up a tank that has a 75g sump but was originally a saltwater tank. How do I convert it to freshwater? And what filter traction media do I put in and where? Imma need pics or illustration to help understand. I've looked online and it gives a rough idea. But I know alot of people use scrubbies in the drip tower but that's about as far as my knowledge goes... any input is greatly appreciated

Post a good clear pic of the sump you get and we can tell you what goes where. One pic from the top and one from the side would do fine.

Basically same procedure and pot scrubbers, bio balls, and media of your choice can be used in the drip section. :)

That's exactly what you need for freshwater. Add media of your choice and your good to go.

Check out king of diy on YouTube excellent videos on sumps

I use bio balls and filter floss and sponges. In the middle you can add bags of lava rock/ ceramic rings, pot scrubbers etc

Do you have a pic of yours? I watched his submerged sump video which would be what mine is and he doesn't show the media in it. Just like filter floss or bio balls in the drop area, and then simply just simple media scattered across the middle area? Nothing special about it?

Ok I think I know where my misunderstanding is coming from. In my sump the barrier between drop chamber and the media chamber does not have a flow space under it to where it has to flow through the media..
