All I can think of is to add more live rock or install a refugium with chaeto. The chaeto will suck up all the nitrates as long as you supply it with sufficient lighting.

Sulfur denitrators work very effectively at reducing nitrates to near zero. As do biopellet reactors. Each has its own benefits and things to look out for. I have used both before. Sulfur seems to work better on colder water tanks than biopellets. Both work well in tropical reef temps however

Do you have a lot of water flow? Generally this helps, although zoa growth in my opinion is inconsistent between different colonies. You may also want to try some sort of food outfitted for zoas. In the end 6 months isnt too terribly long for a reef. Stay patient, keep them healthy, and agitate them as little as possible.
