Cuban Cichlid Breeding Project

Had 6 Cubans come in today and they look great. Noticed they they stay very close as a group, for now and come right to the glass when I walk up. Trying to get a breeding pair and within the next few weeks, they'll be placed in a 75 gallon. Once I get a pair, I'll rehome the rest.

Hmmm possible pair? Ended up with 2 males and 4 females. But these 2 have been side by side for 2 days and dug a pit behind the sponge filter.

So I've quarantined a female that's a little beaten but doing better, moved a female to my 125, rehomed the other male and female.
I kept the dominant male and dominant female with a divider in hopes of eventually they start breeding. These 2 were non stop side by side.

These fish form a really good pair bond. Make sure she has a few hides he can't get to if possible. I've lost a females a few times if the sizes were to similar.

She has plenty for hiding. Plus There's a divider in the tank.
