Just like the title says. I would like to keep at tank with just dats. I dont care if they are all the same species. I just think it would look awesome. Here's is the question. Has any one tried this? What success/failure did you have? What breed would you recommend to try this with? and how many would you start with? If achievable, I would like to grow out from as small as possible.The tank will be a bare bottom 6X2X2, with a 75 g sump

Plenty of us here have kept dats that way with multiple species as well as single species groupings.I once had a tank going with one of each known species but I mostly keep indos these days.
Keep in mind that dats grow to be pretty big but they take a long time to get there so get the biggest tank that you can afford and most agree that groups of at least four dats are best in order to keep fights to a minimum.
