Difference between SILVER/BLACK/BLUE arowanas!

Larger blacks do looks similar to silver aros. There are difference in coloration and body shape though. For me the most noticable trait is the smaller narrow tail of the black aro.

Regarding my tank, I run two Fluval FX5 cannister filters and a 40g sump with about 1500gphs in return pumps.

At least 50% weekly, sometimes I'll do 50% every 4-5 days.
Exactly the same WC schedule with my tank haha....its cause our fish eat so much!

I'd like to add that blacks have different temperament. My silver was much more aggressive and ate everything that hit the water. My black takes his time and doesn't hit the food as aggressively. He cowers in the corner more and likes to hide among floating cover. I think blacks don't grow as fast or as big because of their eating habits.
