Having checked this in a while, yeah the bottom of the stand looks exactly like the top. there is eight pieces of 2x4 connecting the two longer sizes underneath the plywood.

This stand will hold a glass 300 gallon.

I used the glossy black. It didnt come out as glossy as I thought it would be.

And the front canopy doors have hinges so i can just lift the door up when i feed.

Awesome build going on here!
A question for you guys....does the whole stand inside and out) need to be sealed in some way to prevent water get to the raw wood to stop it from warping or rotting over time? Being a fish tank stand i know these this are exposed from water from time to time.

I literally used the same exact design for my 88 gallon tank I'll be making. I only used one 2x4 for the middle though since my tank isn't going to be as long as yours

Awesome build... planning on a 200g tank in the near future.

Can you please provide more details on the construction of the stand.

1. What kind of nails or screws (length) did you use?
2. Glue ?
3. How do you prevent the stand from flexing ?
4. How many cross brace or supports is under the tank ?
6. Can you provide detailed pics of the corners and joint areas..
