DIY stand for 8 foot 250 gallon

I am going to build a stand for my 250 gallon. It is 8 foot x 24 inches footprint. Should I use 2x6 or 2x8 for the frame? There was a thread on here a while back with the DIY plans that is the stand I will be building.

2x8 is overkill. Go 2x6 or 2x4, depending on the design of your stand.

There is a thread down at the bottom by my signature of my 315G build, the first thing I built was the stand. Take a look.....very easy and sturdy stand.

Yep that is the design I am using. There was a thread on here a while back with that same design. So how is it holding up so far? Any complaints or things you wish you had done different? Thank you for posting that link too.

The stand is holding up great and there are no changes I would have made to it. One thing you might want to do is install lights inside the stand that operate on a switch so you can see under it real good one the tank and other goodies are in place.
