Do I need lighting on top for my pothos?

For now I've been turning on the recessed lighting on the top there for about 4 hours. But if the plan can survive the way it is I'd rather do that than having to add extra lighting at the top.

Is there any ambient light coming from a window in the room at all?
It's amazing how little ambient light they will exist on.
If not, your 4 hours of recessed lighting will probably be needed.
The more light they get, the more nutrients they suck up.

Yes but from the opposite side of the room and the tank never gets direct light. I'll look into something lighting I can hang over. I was trying to avoid this since it will be more of an eye sore but as you mentioned they'll do better with more lighting and I definitely want that.
