Hi there I just bought 2 new light fixtures and there are tags on the lights saying that you must use them with legs and not with any canopy.

The light fixture is the Aquatic Life Dual-Lamp T5 HO.

I would like to do both of these things but was wondering if there is a way around it or not.

I am putting the lights on a glass top so there is no worry of them falling in. If the worry is the lights getting too hot I could alter the canopy and shim up the lights.

What do you think?

These lights do get pretty hot so I can see why they suggest using legs. Perhaps they had to do this to avoid lawsuit

Thats what I thought I dont think I would be taking a risk cutting the legs down and adding my canopy. I could add some holes in the canopy to let heat out.
