I can barely tell mine apart unless they are spawning. Buy a group of six fish @ 2 - 3", enjoy growing them out, let them pair off naturally, and sell or trade in the extras. I was at a local shop yesterday and their 3" orangeheads were $25, which seems really steep for such a common species. The advantage there I guess is being able to pick your own fish, and not worrying about weather with shipping.
