Eheim 2026 Setup Question

I have a simple (hopefully) question regarding the Eheim 2026/2028. Is it advisable to put bagged media like Purigen or Phosguard in the area under the media baskets. From what I have read that is a high flow area.

I personally would put it in the top basket.
