Eheim 2080 wont reprime

I'm trying to restart an eheim 2080. When I connect the hose and turn on the flow valve it fills with water. I push the primer a few times to get air out. I turn it on and can hear it running, but it doesn't pump the water out. If I hold down the primer button it'll push water slowly out the output and some air. As soon as I let off it stops. I've tried emptying and refilling it 4 times. I've made sure I have the media in right. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks.

My old canister did that whenever I had to restart it I would take the grill off the end of the intake tube and put my power head pump up to the intake and it would force the water into the filter until it pushed all the air out. Might work if u got a power head in there to try
