Alligator Gar, nothing grows faster!
WTF? Never experienced the Spat gar's, but if you put 1" gar fry in with 1" tilapia (I have done on occasion ALWAYS at the Gars expense!) the 12+" tilapia will kill the 4" - 6" gar.

How can you say this. The Tilapia is NOT the #1 farmed fish due to its incredibly slow growth rate. Tilapia max out at WELL UNDER 24". They will reach maximum length within the second year of their life. Gator Gars live for near a century dude. It takes close to a decade before they reach their maximum length.

I bought my Nile Tilapia and Butti's at 1" from TFD (Now out of business) in the one inch range. I have barely been collecting fish for two years. Pics of the 1" fish within a few months:

I had a nile that went from 2 to 5 inches in what had to be just a few weeks and then my polleni killed him. But I was amazed at his growth. Leiarius longibarbis, I had one go from 2 inches to over a foot in about 5-6 months.

What is the growth rate of a pima? Anybody have a log? Probably very few..

Red Tails apparently grow an inch a month till like 3 feet I think...and then they slow
