Has there ever been a real reason as to why they do this sometimes? It's quite annoying when you're fish do this. They do This and start acting sporadic at times just all over the place.

He do you mean sporadic? My fahaka will swim up and down the length of the tank nosing the glass as she goes... It just means she is hungry and wants your attention. But I get the impression you mean your fish are sick or distressed?

Its just sometimes out of no where they will start swimming against the glass then they just dart off sometimes running into the other side of the glass. I don't think they are sick and they look very healthy. These are pickerel so they are a little different but sometimes hey just go the entire tank against the glass non stop.

I think he is just seeing his reflection. I had a koi do this when he was small when I had him in my 55 gallon. He stopped doing it after he was in the tank for a while. He is now in my pond.
