What do you guys think about seachem fluorite gravel as a bichir substrate? It's a fairly fine gravel.

Otherwise, does anyone have experience with fluorite sand? What else could be used?

I don't like the looks of it (not cosmetic) seems like something that if it does get swallowed it would be some damage... Try Quartz sand or Pool Filter Sand :) I personally use CaribSea Aquarium Sand comes in all different colors and you can get it at your major fish store.. Petsmart ect...

people always have different opinions, but when it comes down to it. YES it could be harmful for your bichirs. ive had a bichir eat a rock and slowly die...

I've used it for years with bichirs and ropes. Never had issues. It's great for growing plants.
Not trying to throw the OPs thread off but is Fluorite safe for shrimp?
