they might be, but most likely not. There are a 10000 gallon tank that I know have a few Florida gar in there, the tank is at its' 9th years right now and none of the Florida is even pass 20'' yet.
Thanks for sharing that info. It's nice to know those kinds of things.can you get a picture up of this enclosure?

This is Charles, I think he's an alligator gar especially due to his disappearing spots and growing olive color on his back. He's a little over a foot now and was sold to me a few months back as a spotted gar, it would be great if I could get some conformation on his true identity! Thanks

That's what I figured as well. I can't say I'm disappointed, he's a really cool fish but he'll be giant one day. He actually eats from my hands and doesn't mind being held and touched so I'm very pleased with him. Thanks for the help

My gator gar liked being touched too, I touched him when he was little and he grew up not being afraid of me anymore.
