because most people don't know how to tell different gar apart when they are small, plush Alligator gar is not a common fish to see in a LFS!

Gator gar are very common here in my lfs. There usaly 5-6" not 3"

I dont mean to hi jack the thread but even at three inches theres a distinct difference in the shape spotting and snout on a gator vs a florida or lng I think its harder to tell the difference between other gars at that size but in my opinion from what Ive been around and seen the gator by far is easily distinguishable.
