i was gonna ask the same Ade. I have 5 NTT's ranging from 4-7 inches, and the problem is they never seem to stuff themselves. My 2 indo's stuff themselves and are therefor getting much larger, while the NTT's kinda stay the same size. I recently moved the decor around and made my NTT's much more outgoing, i'm hoping this in turn helps them to eat more and grow larger.

Spwd: please let me know what your water parameters are and what filtration you use.
Your ntts are thriving , good job!

But I have had so many thinbars die on me over the years... Ranging from 2 inch to 14 incher.
Wonder if you Have soft water system???

Hi Ade,i did lose 3or 4 when these were growing up,just out of the blue they started dieing like arowana718 says but not had a problem since.

Its definitely not soft water, its neutral but i age it overnight, temp is 79 to 82 degrees i fill a 500l container up from the tap(no tapsafe etc) at night, then the next morning i turn the pump and heaters on when i go work and pump it round with heaters on until its up to temp when i come home around 5 and then do a wc on the 350gal

Filtration is by a 5ft x 18"x 18" sump with an oase 8500lph(probably more like 6500 to 7500,complete guess though lol) pump through 2 weirs and one return, jap mat then sponges then some alphagrog and sponges and scrubbies and bioballsand this again in the next section, hth.
Although ive taken some of the alphagrog out and put more scrubbies and bioballs in,theyre alot easier to deal with than heavy alphagrog.

Thanks steve for info.
Your water is hard like mine, so not too sure the software theory stacks up.... Still a possibility though as you said you did loose a couple to start with.

Just noticed this dat media lounge. Awesome!!

Beautiful stable indo man, beast! I sold my 17inch indo a couple years ago, and he was mean n unstable 95% of the time. The 5% stable time is when he was stressed out over something
