If I did not test my water...
...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?

So I noticed a week ago that my green terror won’t eat any food and has small pin sized holes on his head, I’ve been treating general cure as box instructed. But it doesn’t seem to be getting any better, I do a 25% wc twice a week and bumped it to 50%. Nitrates tend to stay at 20/30. I guess my question is, is it getting better? How can I tell if it is? What do I do if it’s not? I just love my big girl so much and I hate seeing her like this.

What’s the pH.
When cichlids are being kept in too low ph and high nitrates (over 20), it can lead to HITH.
Getting the ph up for the gt (which is bad for the Oscar though) and the nitrates down will help to reverse it.
Hex shield also helps to combat hexamita, a parasite which leads to HITH.

GT should be fine with the higher ph. Would try the hex shield as mentioned. Can mix it with garlic or bloodworm juice to stimulate an appetite. Keep the nitrates below 20ppm.

That’s too bad. Can try a seachem metroplex or a metronidazole dip.
I have metroplex and general cure, I see that they both have the same amount of metronidazole in them, is one better than the other? How long does hole in the head typically take to heal?
