help....how to propagate amazon sword plant

here is a picture of one of my amazon sword plants. this "runner" has developed over the past month or so and is finally developing roots. how do i clip these little guys off and not hurt the mother plant?

I usually just use scissors, but you really won't hurt the mother. Once the swords have roots you can remove and plant them. In my higher light tank once my sword got established it shot off one of those runners weekly. Each runner turned to 10-50 nodes, and each node generally had three plants. The runners had a tendency to split as well. I've also seen the runner flower once. It was a small unimpressive white flower and it took a ton of light and high humidity.
