Darn:( I was hoping for male but I guess female is ok but what are the main differences looks and aggression wise between male and female cause I want my jaguar to have a pretty pattern

Females have less speckles and lots more gold in colour especially on the underside , they are also smaller than males Max out at around 10" as males reach 14" on average , females can be just as aggressive towards tankmates you'll have to watch her when she lays eggs.
She's a nice looking fish though congrats welcome to the jag keeper elite lol ;):D

Thank you! It's probably good she's female because I don't think my tank is for a male jaguar and a jack dempsey and tiger oscar

Female I think too. Here was ours at about 13".

She would not tolerate any other cichlids in both a 220 and 300 and had to be rehomed.

Good looking jaguar:) mines still scared of the oscar and the jack dempsey is psycho and almost killed her and he's behind a divider so she still hasn't got aggressive but I think she will with time
