So I'll try to keep it short,
if you need specific info just ask me to post it real quick.

Long story short,
I'm running a 110g tank with some growouts,
a few polys, a few silver dollars, a knife, pleco, and GATF.

The 6"-7" african brown knife came from an LFS a couple months ago by now,
with a strange growth on his chin which i thought nothing about. I figured it was a fight scar.

The other night I noticed it was red, finally after weeks of growing apparently.
Well by the time I figured out that it might be Viral Lymphocystus, it seems the growth had become full at about 1mm-2mm, and as far as I can tell may have bursted. There is a white piece of scar tissue hanging out of the middle of a red spherical cyst just under the skin on the chin.

Assuming that's what it is,
and also assuming it had completed it's life cycle and burst open,

are my other fish now already infected, having been a couple days by now?

Would removing the knife, even at this point, still be a good idea?
Would any sort of treatment possibly affect young stages of viral lymphocystus?

Thanks in advance.
general tank temps are 84*, usually salted at 1tbsp per 5g, however i'm currently at 50% of that.
