help to catch canaidian blue catfish

you could try jugging for it, take a small carp or bluegill trim some of its fins down so blood goes into the water and hook behind the dorsal fin. attach to a line that you tie to a nut and drop into a large plastic bottle. when the catfish takes the bait it hooks itself trying to pull the jug under water. all you have to do is retreive your jug and attached catfish. since this is a carp pond i assume that there are no other aquatic predators so this should work for your cat no problem.

try this out, you can either spool the line inside the bottle and let the bait free swim but you run the chances of it hiding and the catfish not being able to find it. if you keep the line short and release late in the day you could check in the morning and see if you have your fish. you know you have something when the bottle bobs in the water or goes against the wind or current direction. if you dont want to use live bait and use a prepared bait you run the risk of catching a carp instead.
