Help with Redtail Catfish Pond Design

Yes and no, lol. I'm a person who thinks very well in the long term and the pond is only just part of an even larger project: construction of the entire house. So no, unfortunately there hasn't been any direct progress on this project yet (which is good because I still have a lot of skills to refine: Tank Setup, Fish Care, Fish Training, etc.). This pond is more so a piece of my end-goal dream, and as such is part of an infrastructure that could be 10 years or more in the making.
However, there has been significant progress in some areas of the pond. I now have my own personal tank and an incredibly awesome, soon to be monster, Pleco named Pete. His story is described in my more recent post "What is in my tank?! The Infamous "Common Pleco" Debacle" if you're curious. I will also be starting up a training log called "How To Train Your Pleco" soon and will be updating it regularly as Pete's training progresses
