As people have said here dietary defiencies can lead to lowered resistence to disease, I have read that vitamin K (potassium) shortage can be the culprit. Live crickets can be fed crushed dried spinach, nori (not the smoked kind), and spirolina are all god sources of potassium and the crickets will pass on the supplement when eaten. In the wild fish eaters feed on a variety of fish and a lot of those are omnivores or vegetarians so come pre-gutloaded.
