i am buying some green terror cichlids and r going to try two breed them but have never raised cichlids before and realy fell in love withe the green terror it is in my oppinion the best cichlidive seen.

1 i am putting them in a 55 gal tank it s somwhat planted and i have waited and tested ph for about 3 weeks and it is perfect for them.

would this be ok for the cichlids to breed in?

There is no "yes or no" answer to this.

Conditions are important. Water quality is key.

If you want to get a pair, I would suggest buying 8-10, from different sources if possible and wait for a pair to bond. Pairs can be aggressive and destructive so if you like your plants, beware.

Personally I haven't had any success breeding Green Terrors. I know others who have been successful but I haven't.

BTW, this belongs in the breeding section.

Buy a dozen, toss them in, whichever 10 don't pair up sell back to store.

First of all welcom to MFK, second look around and please find the correct section to post questions like this in. We have a SA/CA section as well as a breeding section. If you're not posting something for sale then you should not be posting here.

A dozen GTs in a 55? Getting him off to a bad start. Unless he runs a couple of FX5s on that thing! :naughty:

You think a dozen 5 inch GT's in a 55 gallon for a week or two is wrong?
Yes, it's a little cramped, but short term. It's not permanent.
I'm just trying to put this boy on the fast track for some GT lovin..
Toss in a few pots and some extra water changes.

well that would have worked if it was the cons the ones posting but....

for something not permanent u can see who pairs up in a 55g just fine. why green terrors anywyas? is there any cichlid u want to try first so u get the hang of raising fry and the breeding pattern?
