So I've taken some smooth black pond stones from a nearby river that I was hoping to use for a planted tank as anchors for some plants that are having trouble rooting. I have kept the rocks in their own bucket of water for 13 days and the ph has barely fluctuated during those 13 days, if at all.
Shelving the eternal conversation about the risk of rocks from outdoors as a microbial contamination vector (only snails live in the tank at this time), at this point do I have any reason to worry the rocks may alter the ph of the tank?
