Hello All,

It's been a few years since I've kept rays, but yesterday I took the plunge and bought a pair of motoro hybrids. They are approximately 4" across. They're being housed in a 220 (72x24x30) with 1 arawana (about 6") and a pair of small oscars. I expect once these rays outgrow this tank I'll have to upgrade to a 30" wide tank. I expect I have a few years before that happens. No?

To my question. I thought 2 rays would be good for this tank, but now that they're in there I would like to add another female or 2. Is this a bad idea? Will they run out of space much sooner if I do this?

Please share your thoughts/wisdom.

Thank you!

You probably have about a year to get set up with a bigger tank. 8 feet by 3 feet is a good starting place. Obviously bigger will be better.

I'd say get the bigger tank and then the rays. Life happens and it would be better to have the peace of mind :)

(And another tank)
