I thought you said you were taking a break and weren't buying new tanks. Now you are looking at buying a fish that requires a salt setup and I'm sure you probably know nothing about

Depends on the species. Pterois volitans are very easy to come by. I've seen 6" individuals as low as 30$ in my area. Most fish (that don't fit in their mouth) are okay with them aside from large puffers and triggerfish.

Assuming you mean volitans, you can get anywhere. Tank should be biggest possible with at least minimum four foot tank to start/grow out. id avoid large piscivorous eels and nippy fish like triggers.

I have a volitan and believe me, salt costs a lot of money and requires a lot more attention than fw. If I were. You. Id pass on it.

Most the time keeping marine fish does require more work though the same can be said for a lot of freshwater fish.
