I built a top for my 700 today because I am super paranoid about one of my beloveds jumping out in the middle of the night. I built the top in two halves so that it will open on either side. Technically only one side opens because the filter goes through the other side. I also put my new florida gar in there now that he cant jump out. some pics!

I didn't heat it. I used 3/4 inch pvc bent around the outside and down the middle. I used 90 degree elbows to take some stress out. I clamped the two sides to a 1 1/2 piece of pvc so that it stayed straight down the middle. Also used tie wraps for a little more strength. The whole thing cost me just under $30.
