What? Collect a fish that is still under threat of overcollection to sustain the livelihood of indigenous people? There are other options than using a fish which had been under red list before. I have my doubts on this project. The torpedo barbs were once under threat. Since their population had been restored, they are now being collected again and this time, for this very reason? I don't know whether I like this project or not but for the very reason being that they are under threat, I don't think so. Sorry to say it but I don't.

This species is increasingly under threat by unregulated fishing practises and this project would mean far more control over the way in which this species is being fished.
Quote below is assuring. We'll see how it goes.
