Hi all,
I got a 1.5 inch jar, nice specimen. Brought him back home, and within an hour was chomping Blood Worms. Now, my question to the experts is about flakes. The LFS got him on flakes, and he is still eating them. He is with a school of tetras and the flakes I feed the tetras are the standard tropical flakes.
I went through the sticky and saw nothing about flakes. Is it acceptable at this size? Is it bad?

Most people tend to feed sticks or pellets such as Hikari Carnivore as it is creates less waste as small particles of the flakes can leave through the gills. By feeding pellets the fish also get more feed.

I don't think it's bad as long as that's not it's primary diet. My jar eats flakes too, as he used to be in the same tank with a school of tiger barbs. He also eats bloodworms, shrimps, arowana pellets, hikari foodsticks and small frogs.
