There's more than one way of building a concrete floor! Block and beam or mezzanine decking are the main ways to create a suspended floor. Usually domestic floors will be block and beam, with concrete placed 4-6 inches deep, with a 75mm sand and cement screed on top for finished floor. size of aggregate types of sand strength of concrete ie amount of cement used varies. Then you have steal in the concrete could be made out of re bar tide into place with a mesh on top gauge could vary again. Many possible ways it could of been built. Samples of concrete are usually taken from every wagon these days put into a steal cube mould left to completely cure and then crushed to test for strength. I've placed tonnes and tonnes of concrete, from industrial units placed with a machine level power float finish - driveways rubbed up with a plastic float believe me not all concrete is the same!!!
